East Sussex in Figures (ESiF) is the local information system (LIS) for the county.  It’s a website that provides access to essential data, information and analysis.

The East Sussex economy generated £18,866 Gross Value Added (GVA) per head in 2016, up 1.6% since the previous year.  This is 71.6% of the UK average.  A new briefing on GVA is now available on ESiF.

A child born in East Sussex in 2014-2016 can expect to live to 84.0 years if they are female and 80.3 years if they are male, which is slightly above the national average life expectancy.

In 2016/17 there were 1,020 new dwellings completed in the county, up from 830 the previous year , but lower than the 1,060 completed in 2014/15.

In December 2017 there were 8,167 people claiming Universal Credit (UC) in the county, 38% of whom were in employment.  UC has now been rolled out in all districts except Lewes.
