Developing and Reviewing Pride of Place

East Sussex Strategic Partnership (ESSP) is committed to regular consultation and feedback, and to reviewing and updating Pride of Place, the Sustainable Community Strategy for East Sussex.

How we developed Pride of Place
In 2007 the six local authorities and six Local Strategic Partnerships in East Sussex decided to bring their individual community strategies into one, integrated strategy - Pride of Place.

We took this approach because we believe we can achieve more by having a shared vision of the future and planning and working together to achieve it. It also means that we can make best use of our resources, working together where appropriate, while making sure local issues are also tackled.

How we review and update Pride of Place
There are number of countywide partnerships in East Sussex that produce and help deliver detailed plans for specific themes or population groups such as adult learning and skills, or older people and carers. These countywide partnership plans are informed by and help inform Pride of Place.

Whenever these plans are reviewed and updated by the relevant countywide thematic partnership, the relevant sections of Pride of Place are also updated – helping to ensure that Pride of Place continues to reflect the needs and aspirations of local people.
