Magnifying text

There are several ways you can zoom in or magnify text in our site.

  • For a permanent solution if you find the text difficult to read, change some of the default settings of your browser. This will alter the way all web pages appear on your screen. Depending on which browser and computer system you are using, these can be found in either the Tools/Options or Edit/Preferences menus. Choosing a larger font size will mean that pages will be delivered to you with larger text, which will be easier to read.
  • You can change your zoom or magnify settings temporarily by selecting View then Text Size (also called Text Zoom in some browsers) from the menu bar at the top.
  • If you have a mouse with a scrolling wheel, you can enlarge or reduce the size of text on screen. To enlarge text, hold down the Control key while rotating the mouse wheel towards you. To reduce text size hold down Control and spin the wheel away from you. This will step you through a range of four text sizes.

If you have a visual impairment, you'll find helpful advice from the RNIB on their web page 'Using your PC'.
