Children’s Trust partners - meetings and documents

Children’s Trust partners and other children’s services providers meet regularly at both an area and local level to discuss planning and service delivery as well as to monitor progress and to decide on actions.

There are several groups in different geographical areas of the county and they are responsible for various aspects of children's services, as well as for different age groups (0-19 years). Their meetings bring local professionals together and include schools, health, police, and the statutory and voluntary sectors.

Local Partnerships for Children__________

A Local Partnership for Children (LPC) brings together a 'virtual team' of professionals from a group of schools with key people across a range of children's services. The partnership includes school heads, social care professionals, educational welfare officers, educational psychologists, and SEN caseworkers. It may also include representatives from youth services, children's centres, the police, and voluntary and community organisations.

Each LPC agrees the priorities for their area and ensures that these are delivered. They work within the aims of the national strategy ' Every Child Matters '.

The 22 LPCs in East Sussex are split into five areas:
  • Hastings and St Leonards
Hastings West, Hastings East, St Leonards North, St Leonards South.
  • Bexhill and Rother
    Bexhill, Rye, Battle, Robertsbridge.
  • Eastbourne
Eastbourne North East, Eastbourne South, Eastbourne North.
  • Wealden
    Crowborough, Wadhurst, Uckfield, Heathfield, Hailsham.
  • Lewes
Newhaven, Peacehaven, Lewes, Chailey, Ringmer, Seaford

If you are an organisation or group involved in providing children's services in East Sussex, you can contribute to your local LPC meeting. Download a list of LPC meetings for summer 2008 terms 5 - 6.

Children’s Services Planning Groups________

CSPGs are the strategic 'umbrella' groups for Local Partnerships for Children (LPCs) in East Sussex and operate across the five district and borough areas. They coordinate the work of services and agencies at an area level and drive a joint approach to improving outcomes for children and young people that is informed by local needs and priorities identified by the LPCs.

Members are representatives from the districts or boroughs, the Children's Services Authority (CSA) local health services, LPCs, police, the voluntary sector, further education, children's centres and schools. Meetings are held every two months.
